The Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners invites residents to connect with Mecklenburg County by participating in the governing process. The Board welcomes public comment and looks forward to hearing from you! Near the beginning of every regular meeting, members of the public are invited to address the Board on subjects not appearing on the agenda. The public may also address specific agenda items at the time the Board discusses them. Speakers are provided up to three minutes each to speak. Speakers may not use their time for campaign purposes or make budget requests. Budget requests must be addressed at budget public hearings. Public hearings for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget are scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, 2025, and Thursday, May 22, 2025.

The Board reserves the right to alter the rules on a case-by-case basis for the efficient and effective conduct of business. All information provided on this form is subject to N.C. public records law (NCGS § 132) and may be released upon request. If you are unable to complete the online form or to request the list of speakers for a meeting, contact the Clerk's Office at 980-314-2939 or email Clerk@MeckNC.gov. 

The Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners meetings are open to the public and the media.

Members of the public can also access and view meetings on the Government Channel (Spectrum Cable Channel 16) or online at MeckTV at Watch.MeckNC.gov.

Requirements: 

If registering online to address the Board at a regular meeting, speakers must register by 3 p.m. ET. After 3 p.m., speakers must register in person at the meeting location.

Budget Public Hearings: 

January 22 Public Hearing: The deadline to register online is January 21 at 5 p.m. 

May 22 Public Hearing: The deadline to register online is May 21 at 5 p.m. 

After the online registration closes, members of the public may still register in person upon arrival at the meeting. Speakers are encouraged to register in advance, or their names will be placed at the end of the list of speakers. Speakers who have registered will receive additional information on the day of the meeting.

Registration will be temporarily closed from January 21, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. to January 23, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
